Details
EAST WORLINGTON WEST WORLINGTON SS 71 SE 8/30 Down Cottage (previously listed as "Mildmay") 20.2.67 GV II Cottage. Probably C18. Rubble and cob, roughcast; chimney with tall rough-cast shaft; steeply-pitched C20 straw-thatched roof with gable ends. Plan: 2 room plan, unheated room to left, heated room to right with a rear corner fireplace bread oven. Exterior: of 2 storeys, asymmetrical 2 window front, C20 casements with close-set glazing bars. Door opening to left of centre, plank door. Interior: the room to right of ground floor with a chamfered ceiling beam, fireplace with a low wooden bressumer. Straight-flight staircase to central lobby.
