SLAPTON SLAPTON SX8245 Chest tomb about 10 11/108 metres north north west of north porch of Church of St James

GV II

Chest tomb. Circa 1832. Dressed slate chest with chamfered cornice and unmoulded slate lid inscribed in upper case with serifs to Susanna Hodge and Jonathan Hodge, the latter who died in 1832. Against the east end of the chest there is a limestone gravestone with a shaped head and badly weathered inscription to one or more of the Hodge family.
