II

Cottage. Circa mid C17 with C18 or early C19 alterations and extension. Plastered stone rubble and/or cob. Thatched roof, gabled at right hand end and half hipped at left hand end. Plan: 1-room plan house at right angles to road, with fireplace in stack at lower right hand end. The central doorway probably originally gave direct entry into the room. In the C18 or early C19 a single storey outshut was built at the rear and later in C19 an outbuilding outshut was added to the high left hand end. Exterior: 1 storey and attic. Asymmetrical 1-window west front. C20 2- light casement to right and C20 porch to left of centre to left of which is a small single storey outshut. In right hand south gable end 2 late C19 sashes with glazing bars and C20 casement. At rear small late C19 first floor 2-light casement with glazing bars and single storey outshut with slate lean-to roof. Later C19 outshut on north end is an outbuilding. Interior: 2 chamfered cross-beams one with bar run out stop. Fireplace blocked. Roof is circa C18 or early C19 replacement with collars lapped and pegged to face of the principals.
