Grimpstonleigh House with front garden walls

Farmhouse. Dated 1830. Rubble, some printed, slate hung front, slate roof. Symmetrical, gabled, central stair plan. Two storeys, three windows; three-light glazing-bar casements, but two-light over central C19 panelled and part-glazed door under flat hood on brackets. Gable stacks. Front fenestration is off-set to left, with under stretch of wall to right. Left return slate-hung. Right return has lean-to over large door; date plaque to gable. Back has two and three-light horizontal bar casements. Interior not accessible. Attached to front of house is rubble garden wall, returned across front to central cast-iron gate with spear-head rails. A very isolated and unchanged traditional early C19 building.
