Detached house on steep hill slope. Early C19. Rubble, slate roof to clay
ridge, 2 brick gable stacks. Three storeys, 2 wide-spaced windows, 16-pane
sashes to cambered brick heads, but ground floor right has 2-light glazing bar
casement to flat brick arch, to right of C20 glazed door in gabled hood on
rustic poles. Gables plain. Back has flat-roofed full-width extension with
flat roof, not of special interest; at second floor level are two 2-light
glazing bar casements in slate hung wall. To left of front a single storey
extension in rubble, asbestos-cement roof, with 3 plank doors, perhaps a former
donkey house; small light at eaves. To the right a short section of wall
connecting with outhouse to Auton (q.v.), with wide plank door and large cast
iron decorative knocker. Across the front of the house a series of steps to the
hill slope.
