DARTINGTON STAPLE SX7861-SX7961 Outbuilding Adjoining NE of Staple Cottage 13/155

GV II

Outbuilding, probably a pigsty and store. Probably early C19. Local stone rubble; weatherboarded left-hand gable-end. Scantle slate roof hipped at right end, gabled at left end; early crested ridge tiles reused. Small single storey building, rectangular on plan with doorway at either end one at centre rear and another to left of front; therefore probably originally partitioned inside into 4 square sections, the partitions have been removed. Plank doors and no windows. Old roof structure, the principal have halved and lapped apexes and trenched purlins.
