GV II

House. Circa mid to late C18; enlarged probably in early or mid C19 and altered in C20. Roughcast stone rubble. Asbestos slate gable-ended roof, the ridge raised to form a half-hipped roof. Rendered gable end stacks. Plan: The original plan was 2 rooms with a central entrance and each room heated from a gable end stacks. In circa early to mid C19 rooms were added at the back to form a double depth plan and the ridge of the roof was raised. The house was modernised in the C20 when the partition on the right hand side of the central passage was removed. Set back to the left is a short parallel wing of 1-room plan which is all that remains of a range of cottages. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window range of circa early C19 sashes with glazing bars, the first floor 12-panes, the ground floor 16 panes. Central doorway with C20 glazed door and side lights. Set back to the left a short parallel wing with an asbestos slate gable-ended roof; 1 storey, 1-window range with C20 12-pane casements and a C19 glazed and panelled door.
