SHERFORD SX 74 NE 3/69 Cider house and retaining wall immediately to the east of Malston 26.1.67 Barton

Cider house and retaining wall, formerly part of barn. C17 possibly earlier in parts but much altered. Slatestone rubble wall slightly battered and now reduced in height, Corrugated iron leanto roof. The wall is built into the hillside and the cider house, where cider barrels were formerly stored, has the only opening on the south side and extends back underground with a stone barrel vaulted roof. The barn was formerly on the higher level above it and extending to the rear but it has been rebuilt in later C20.
