2. Italianate stucco terrace, circa 185O-6O, stepping up hill. Nos 6-12 have original residential entrances (No 12 has Tuscan porch up steps); remainder disfigured by single-storey commercial forebuildings. Each house 3 storeys, 3 windows wide. 1st floor windows connected by thin stringcourse on consoles, breaking over centre window of each house as triangular pediment. Main cornice survives on Nos 6-lO and 14-16, roofs recessed behind parapet. Rear also stucco, with many extensions. No 34, set back slightly, has asymmetrical 2-storey canted bay to upper floors.

Nos 1 to 17 (odd) Pembroke Hotel, Nos 25 to 31 (odd) Nos 39 to 45 (odd) and Nos 2 to 4 (even) Poole Bill form a group with Nos l66 to l96 (even) Commercial Road.
