SK 45 NW PARISH OF SOUTH NORMANTON FORDBRIDGE LANE 12/160 (West Side) 9.12.87 Windmill tower to west of St Michael's Church GV II
Windmill tower. Late C18 - early C19. Coursed tapering squared sandstone with ashlar dressings and iron bands. Circular in plan with four stages. Doorcase to south with large plain lintel and plank door. Above to third stage a square window with plain surround. Similar openings to first, second and fourth stages to east and west sides. Iron bands at each floor level. Remains of eaves band to top. Roofless at time of re-survey. Interior has remains of three floors, otherwise gutted.
