Railway bridge south of South Wing field Stationmaster's House

Railway bridge. c1840 for the North Midland Railway Company. Regularly coursed rock faced gritstone with rusticated ashlar arch facings. Single segmental arched bridge with rusticated voussoirs, to arch below a boldly projecting roll moulding above the arch, and a shallow ashlar parapet, now with C20 metal railings. Brick arch lining rising from moulded ashlar plinth band, which is returned onto the arch facings, separating the ashlar arch from the rock faced masonry below. Rock faced abutments, and square metal tie plates to arch spandrels.
