SK 15 SE PARISH OF NEWTON GRANGE ASHBOURNE ROAD 5/49 (East Side) Newton Grange Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Mid C18 and C19. Coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. Plain tile roofs with stone ridge stack and gable end stacks. Two storeys, plus attics. South elevation, five bays. Angle quoins. Left hand bay, a C19 addition with pairs of plain sashes to ground and first floor, with stone surrounds. C18 central section with central doorway, with moulded stone architrave and bracketed lintel. C19 half glazed door. Flanked on each side by mid-C19 sashes with stone surrounds. First floor with central single light window with square section stone surround, flanked on each side by 2-light square section mullion windows, with dripmoulds above. Two similar, but smaller, windows to the attic, the left one asymmetrically placed. To the right, a lower C19 addition, with doorway with lintel and quoins and to the right, a C20 window with C19 stone surround. C19 casement window above.
