SK 15 SE PARISH OF BALLIDON BALLIDON LANE 5/9 (East Side) Cowclose Farmhouse GV II

Farmhouse. Late C17 and C19. Coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. Plain tile roofs with plain gables and stone coped gables with kneelers. Brick ridge stacks and gable end stack. Two storeys. North wing, a tall C17 block, rendered on three sides. North elevation with a 3-light chamfered mullion window on the left. To the right, a single light window with square section flush surround and a similar 2-light window. To the right again; a small 3-light recessed chamfer mullion window with two C19 diamond lights. To the first floor, a single light window, with flush square section surround and adjoining a 3-light chamfer mullion window. Early C19 south wing. South elevation triple gabled, the central one, lower and narrower. Central doorway with raised stone surround and projecting solid pediment. To the right, a plain sash with stone sill and lintel, similar window above. Similar, but narrower window above the door. To the left, one narrow plain sash to the ground floor. West elevation - gabled part to the left with a 3-light chamfer mullion window and a 2-light square section flush mullion window above. To the right, the ground falls away. Glazing bar sash with stone lintel and sill to the ground floor, C19 casement windows above.
