Gate piers, gates and
flanking walls to entrance
to Middleton Hall

Gate piers, gates and flanking walls with pillar stops. Early C19. A pair of
v-jointed ashlar gate piers, 3 metres high, square in plan, and with depressed
pyramidal tops. Attached flanking walls of squared limestone curving outwards
and downwards with saddleback copings. Walls stopped by lower versions of central
piers. Gate piers support heavy ornamental cast iron gates. Listed for group
value only.
