Details

PARISH OF ECKINGTON TROWAY SK 37 NE 6/67 Fold Farm Cottage 31.1.67 II House, formerly two or three cottages. 1669, 1687, converted in C20. Coursed rubble coal measures sandstone, rising from a shallow chamfered plinth with quoins, plain gables, ridge and gable ashlar stacks, and a concrete tiled roof. T-plan, with projecting central gabled wing to rear. South elevation. Two storeys and attics, seven bays, with C20 casements within surrounds of former single light openings and 2-light chamfer mullioned windows. First floor openings, comprising five 2-light and two single light windows site beneath a continuous hoodmould with label stops. Two ground floor doorways, that to the west with a quoined surround and chamfered lintel, bearing an inscription R.E. 1687, the doorway to the east with a chamfered lintel with the inscription R.T.1669. C20 garage inserted at east end. Rear elevation with 2-light chamfer mullioned windows to the first floor and to the attic, the projecting wing possibly incorporating a stair.
