Details

1. 5006 SLOUGH LANE TQ 2088 7/1 No 152, No 154 (Midcot) and No 156 (Hayland) II

2. Irregular terrace of houses Nos 152 to 156 of 1921; no 154 of 1928. Ernest George Trobridge. Timber framed with elm boarding, some brick some plaster infill and some shingles. Thatched roof. Two storeys including roof storey. Irregular fenestration with wooden mullions, lead trimmed to nos 152 and 154. Leaded lights to all windows, with diamond panes and stained glass roundels to some windows of centre house. Floral patterns in stained glass to no 156. Two stacks. Rear elevation of equal interest, with ground floor of Midcot fully glazed. Surviving interiors, panelled with patterned brick fireplaces. Hayland and later Midcot were lived in by the architect. Ernest George Trobridge 1884-1942. Architect Extraordinary. Catalogue to exhibition of 1982.
