Garden walls, pergola and gatepiers. 1911 by H Ibberson. Gritstone rubble, red brick and coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings. Irregular plan of walls with pair of walls either side of driveway to north of house, running west- east ending in semi-circular pair of walls to south with central gates. Attached just to west of this, a pergola runs south towards the house, connecting about half way to house with another wall running at right angles to east with central gate piers. Pair of low gritstone gatepiers with banded rustication set in limestone rubble wall to north of drive. Similar pier to west where wall changes direction. Opposite, a tall stepped gritstone rubble wall, lined to other side in red brick, with large gritstone piers to east of every level, each with narrow semi-circular headed niche with elongated raised keystone. Similar niches to either side of curving entrance walls which have panels of stylised relief carving of foliage and beasts between plain pilasters, elaborate iron gates to centre. To west, a recessed section of wall with a pair of adjoining semi-circular headed arches, a figure of Orpheus carved in relief to the central pillar, giving a view through to the pergola avenue of square gritstone piers with intermediate semi-circular headed archways with elongated keystones. Attached to east about half way to house, a wall of red brick with gritstone base, bands and square piers to centre and middle which support timber beams. Central piers have moulded cornices.
