EAST ORCHARD, Angel Face Chapel and Allset

(Formerly listed as Allset, NEW TOWN)

Nonconformist chapel and chapel house, now private house. Probably C18 origin, enlarged in 1824 (RCHM). Rubble walls with half-hipped, slate roof. Brick stacks to cottage. Gable faces road. Chapel has round headed windows with simple Y-tracery and diamond lattice galzing bars. That facing the road has a C20 replacement without glazing bars. Round headed south door. The cottage end is of 2 storeys and has irreular fenestration. 2 light casments with horizontal glazing bars. RCHM, Dorset, vol IV, p15, no 2.
