GREENHILL (South Side) No 3 (Trinity Lodge), Crown Cottage, Nos 6 to 11 (consec) and No 19 (Bodham House).

(Formerly listed as Delta, Crown Cottage, Nos 6 to 11 (consec) and No 19, previously listed as Nos 3 to 11 (consec)) 30.11.71

GV II Two storey cottages forming the west end of the south row in Greenhill, standing above road level behind high terrace pavement.

Trinity Lodge (No 3): C18 to C19 front, apparently C17 core (see RCHM). Plaintile gabled roof. Stone rubble front. Three small three-light modern wood casements above; two large three-light windows with wood lintel below. Ledged door in frame; lintel.

Crown Cottage: formerly two cottages (Nos. 4 and 5). C17 probably. Roughcast front. Plinth. On first floor, two sashes without glazing bars. Below, four flush panelled door in moulded frame; one sash window to left of it another to right.

No 6 and No 7: probably C17 internally. one window bay and outer doorway each. Plaintile gabled roof. Stone rubble front. Two-light segmental headed casements; upper window in No 7 with leaded panes. Ledged doors in frames.

No 8: probably C17 internally; same roof span as Nos. 6 and 7. One window bay and door. Stone rubble front. Two-light wood casement above; sash without glazing bars below. Ledged door in frame to right hand.

Nos 9 and 11: comprise two cottages straddling centre passageway. C17; structure said to return a stone with the initials and date "W" and "F R". "1664". On first floor from the right, casements of three-lights, two-lights, and three-lights. On ground floor from left to right hand, three-light casement, entrance to passage with wood lintel and six-panelled door; three-light casement. Leaded casement to rear. No 10: is situated to rear of No 9, beyond passage. Later construction up to C19 date of ashlar two storeys. One small window to left hand above and taller window, partly in roof, to right hand, two segmental headed windows on ground floor; modern half glazed door.

No 19 (Bodham House): adjoins No 11 to the east. Three front of three windows, widely spaced. Plaintile gabled roof. Roughcast front. Three-light wood casements with older catches above. On ground floor from left to right, four-light window, six-panelled door with pilasters and entablature; three-light window; six-panelled door in reveals behind late Georgian style doorcase; three-light casement.

All the listed buildings on the north side of Greenhill from Newell Cottage to Belmont: and on the south side from Trinity Lodge to premises occupied by Godden and Curtis form a group.
