TQ 49 SW CHIGWELL HIGH ROAD WEST SIDE Forecourt gateway, 4/5 railings and wall 28.6.54 of Tailours GV II

Wrought iron gateway, railings and walls, C18, SE of Tailours. Gate with arched head, arched overthrow, scrolled surrounds, in the middle of a run of wrought iron spiked railings on dwarf walls of red brick, English bond, with stone coping, approx. 12 metres long. Brick piers at each end with stone copings. At S end a brick wall forming a quadrant approx. 2.5 metres long, 2 metres high and a third pier. Set in the ground beside the gateway, a pair of domed stone bollasters.
