CLACTON-ON-SEA OLD ROAD TM 1716 GREAT CLACTON (east side) 13/23 The Ship Inn II Public house. C16 or earlier with later alterations and additions. Exposed timber frame to first floor. Rough rendered ground floor, brick return to right. Red plain tiled roof, hipped with gablet and outshot to left, jettied central gable and lower level range to right. Red brick chimney stack to left of gable and right of right range. 2 storeys and attics. 2 light window to gable apex. 2:3:1 windows to first floor, 2:1:1 windows to ground floor of C20 leaded vari-light casements including a bow to ground floor right. C20 panelled doors to right and left. The exposed timber frame to left with arched bracing, straight bracing to right, both ranges jettied at one time. Central forward gable with arched braces and moulded bressumer to first floor jetty and moulded eaves bressumer.
