Boathouse and cottage. Probably mid to late C19. Slate rubble with ashlar
dressings, some sandstone, and slate roof. Quoins. T-plan, 2 storeys. North
facade of one storey with attic, 2 bays, dripcourse over ground floor, wide
eaves. 1st bay has window with small-paned casement to ground floor; 2nd bay
has smaller window with small-paned casement to 1st floor. Central porch under
catslide roof has segmental arched entrance and small-paned side lights. Stack
to rear of ridge has 3 round shafts. East gable end similar, wide verge, window
to 1st floor has C20 casement. Wing to left has boathouse entrance to lower
level, upper level has 4-bay loggia with Doric columns and demi-columns and
frieze; entrance has ashlar dressings and door with strap hinges. East gable
end has roof swept down over outshut to right. Ground floor has 3-light
small-paned casement, some plate glass inserted and small inserted window; 1st
floor C20 casement. Boathouse recessed to right has C20 casement and end
lean-to buttress. South elevation is roughcast. Segmental-headed boat
entrance and segmental-headed entrance to steps from loggia. C20 casement
above. A particularly good example of a C19 boathouse.
