2/29 Three Cottages

GV II

Cottage. C13/C14 hall house and crosswing with later and C20 alterations and additions Timber framed and plastered with weatherboarding to left gable. Red plain tiled roofs. Central, C20 restored chimney stack with 2 diagonal shafts, red brick chimney stack to left. Single storey main range, one storey and attics to left and right gabled cross- wings, that to right outshot. Central gabled porch. 2 brick buttresses to main range left of porch. Four 2 light, one 3 light and single light Gothic windows with pointed heads. 3 casement windows to right crosswing, windows leaded. 2 similar 3 light, Gothic windows to left return. Nailed plank and muntin door to porch and original lapped board door with hinges to left of main range. Right crosswing with halved arch braces to walls and roof. Inserted floor and staircase with newel. Splayed scarf with vertical abutments to top plate. Central range with widely spaced wall studs, original tie beams removed-and C20 scissor bracing and buttresses inserted.
