5/15 The Headmasters House
GV II
House. Circa 1909 by Sir Henry Tanner in Arts and Crafts Georgian Style. Pebbledashed with red brick dressings and plain tiled roof. Single large blocks but with the main rooms distinguished by projecting symmetrical section to right. Two storeys and attic on plinth with quoins and modillion eaves cornice. Central projection with broken pediment. Hipped roof with stacks to left, 3 dormers the outer 2 pedimented.Regular fenestration of 7 glazing bar sashes on first floor, the central with keyed segmental head, as have all 6 glazing bar sashes on ground floor, central half-glazed and moulded door with side lights in segmental porch on columns. Recessed 2 storey and attic wing to left, with 2 flat roofed dormers, stacks at end left and to rear, 2 glazing bar sashes on each floor, and irregularly placed large staircasement with keyed segmental head and wooden casement below. Glazed conservatory on right return.
