2 terraced houses forming, with Nos 1-8 (qv), the east side of
Fitzroy Square, but not part of the symmetrical composition.
c1794 from surviving drawing by Robert Adam. No.10 with mid
C19 stucco alterations.
No.9: Portland stone with slate mansard roof and dormers. 3
storeys and attic. 3 windows. Round-arched doorway with
pilaster-jambs carrying cornice-head; fanlight and panelled
door. Plain band at 1st floor level. Square-headed recessed
sash windows, the 1st floor with cast-iron balconies. Cornice
and balustraded parapet. No.10: stucco with rusticated ground
floor. 4 storeys and basement. 3 windows. Round-arched doorway
with pilaster-jambs carrying cornice-head; radial patterned
fanlight and panelled door. Architraved, recessed sash windows
except the 1st floor which has casements with cast-iron
balconies. Secondary cornice at 2nd floor level. Main cornice
and blocking course. INTERIORS not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron railings with urn
finials to areas.
