2 terraced houses. c1777-87. Darkened stock brick with some
later patching. 4 storeys and basements. 2 windows each.
No.42: stucco ground floor with 1st floor band. Square-headed
doorway with stucco pilasters carrying entablature; fanlight
and panelled door. Gauged red brick flat arches to recessed
sashes. Parapet. No.44: painted ground floor. Round-arched
doorway with fluted pilaster-jambs carrying cornice head;
radial patterned fanlight and panelled door. Gauged red brick
flat arches to recessed sash windows with original glazing
bars. Parapet. INTERIORS not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron railings with torch
flambe finials to areas.
