Details
ELDON SQUARE 1. 5128 Railings to George V Memorial Garden SU 7273 7/467 II GV 2. The garden is closed on 3 sides by Eldon Road and Eldon Square. Circa 1840, Cast iron mushroom capped rails with ball-capped standards and scrolled stanchions. Bath stone corner piers with chamfered corners (stopped at base) and moulded capping with crenellation. Similar gate piers to east and west. Similar piers in Eldon Square area. Gardens contain very large marble statue of the lst Marquess of Reading (died 1935).
