SP 9435-9535 ASPLEY GUISE BEDFORD ROAD 7/2 No. 4 (Orchard Cottage) GV II House. Early C18, reworked c.1800. Timber framed structure, road elevation rebuilt in mottled red, grey and yellow brick. Hipped clay tile roof. 2- storeyed L-plan. Road elevation: ground floor has 2 casement windows, one of 3 lights, one of 2 lights. First floor has one 3-light casement and one blind window. All windows have glazing bars. Ground floor ones are under gauged brick flat arches. W. elevation: ground floor has one canted bay to LH and 3 3-light casements with glazing bars. First floor has 3 3-light casements with glazing bars. Blocked doorway between 2 RH windows. Central doorway in line with red brick ridge stack. 6 panel door, top pair glazed. Flat cornice hoods on cut brackets.
