SP 9630-9730 MILTON BRYAN CHURCH END 12/58 23.1.61 The Old Rectory (formerly listed as The Rectory) GV II House, formerly a rectory. C17 origins, substantially reworked earlier C19. Front with colourwashed plaster render, other elevations of colourwashed brick. C20 tile roofs. Double-pile plan with 2-span roof. 2 storeys and attics. Various one and 2-storeyed additions to side and rear elevations. Front (S) elevation: 2 2-storeyed bows, each with 2 windows per floor. These flank central doorway surmounted by first floor window. Windows are sashes with glazing bars in deep reveals. Doorway has French windows under flat hood. Attic has 3 box dormers, all with 2-light casements with glazing bars. Integral chimney stack to LH gable. Rear elevation: narrow 2 storey and attics staircase gable to centre of main block. C19 single storey addition along whole elevation. Ground and first floors have sashes with glazing bars. Attic has 2 box dormers with casements, gable attic has casement with glazing bars. Interior: mid C18 staircase with turned balusters.
