Details
SP 9630-9730 MILTON BRYAN SOUTH END 12/69 Ice house approximately 100m NW of the Manor House GV II Ice house, originally belonging to the Manor House C19. Main structure of mottled red brick, with entrance flanked by walls of coursed ironstone rubble. Set into earth mound, entrance facing E. Consists of circular chamber with domed roof. Access is by tunnel with cambered voulting which slopes downwards from entrance. Formerly had 3 airlock doors, all nowremoved. Walls flanking entrance are curved, forming small oval enclosure, and slope downwards from the tunnel mouth. Ice pond, now dry, approximately 15 metres to N.
