Details

SP 9433-9533 WOBURN BEDFORD STREET (East Side) 8/90 22.10.52 Nos 19 and 20 GV II 2 properties sharing one frontage. Earlier C18, but probably encasing earlier structures. Red brick laid in English bond. Steeply pitched C20 tile roof. 2 storeys and attics. Ground and first floors each have 6 windows in irregular arrangement, although 3 to No. 20 are evenly spaced. All are 2- light C19 casements with glazing bars set in reveals, ground floor ones with top-lights and cambered heads. Attic has 4 hipped dormers containing 2-light casements with glazing bars. No. 19 has doorway to RH with 6-panel door surmounted by fanlight set in cambered-headed reveals. No. 20 has opening to through passage. This opening is flanked by engaged Tuscan quarter columns supporting a moulded cornice, set within a rusticated and segmental-headed surround. High brick plinths to both properties, that to No. 20 rendered and painted. One red brick ridge stack and one red brick gable end stack.
