HUSBORNE CRAWLEY SCHOOL LANE SP 9536 10/33 The Lodge GV II
House. Mid C19. Mottled red brick with yellow brick dressings. C20 tile roof. Front elevation consists of 3-bay principal block of 2 storeys and attic, with 2-storeyed bay to RH. Principal block is in loosely classical style, and is articulated by pilaster strips. Outer pair support, inner pair rise into a moulded stepped gable of broad proportions. Moulded bands at first floor and eaves level. 2-light casement windows, 2 to ground floor, 3 to first floor. All have ornamental geometric glazing bars and are surmounted by flat hoods on cut brackets. Small single light in similar style to centre of gable attic. Central front door is part-glazed with ornamental glazing bars, and has flat hood on cut brackets. RH bay has part-glazed double doors to ground floor and 2-light casement to first floor, in same style as main part. Integral brick stacks to both sides.
