WRESTLINGWORTH & HIGH STREET TL 25l7 COCKAYNE HATLEY (Wrestlingworth) 15/128 The Chequers Inn - II Public house. Late C17 or early C18. Colourwashed roughcast render, apparently encasing some timber framing. Clay tile roof of fairly steep pitch. 2-room plan block of one storey and attics borders road. Later clock projects from rear. Ground floor has one 3-light casement and one 2-light casement with glazing bars. Attic has 3 gabled dormers, central one containing 2-light casement, outer ones containing 3-light casements. LH gable end has projecting brick chimney stack and C20 part-glazed porch.
