10/90 Hamsteels Hall 2/9/85 Farmhouse
II*
Farmhouse. Early C18 with early C19 alterations. Incised stucco with tooled ashlar dressings and plinth; stone-flagged roof with stone gable copings and corniced brick chimneys. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Central C19 door with 3-over-3 chamfered panels, and 4-pane overlight, in chambranlé surround under broken segmental pediment. Plain stone surrounds and projecting stone sills to 12-pane sashes with fine glazing bars. Roof has gable copings on ogee-moulded kneelers; end chimneys. Left return has small rectangular window in gable peak. Full-height rear outshut not of interest.
Interior: 2-panel doors in architraves, and panelled window shutters; ground- floor left room has full early C18 panelling; similar panelling and cupboards in right first-floor room. Good quality dogleg stair with turned balusters, panelled dado, wreath and curtail, and ramped handrail.
