Details

WALSALL MB LOWER HALL LANE (east side) SP 0198 SW 15/71 Nos 20, 21, 22, and 23 19.06.78 GV II Row of houses and shops. Early C19, altered late C19 and C20. Brick in Flemish bond (Nos 21 and 22 painted) with slate roof. Two storeys, five bays. First floor windows sashed with glazing bars and stone sills. Left-hand bay has later C19 shop front with door. Second bay has C20 window under a wide stone lintel with stepped chamfered false voussoirs. The fourth bay has a shop front and door. The right-hand bay has a sashed window with glazing bars and a lintel with stepped false voussoirs. To its left is a door with a timber doorcase which has Tuscan pilasters. To the left of the third bay is a similar doorcase, the lower part now missing. In the third bay is a cart entrance with an eliptical brick arch. Chimneys to right of fourth bay and on right-hand gable. Included for group value.
