Details
1. 5272 GREAT CHART THE STREET (north-west side) Church of St Mary TQ 9741 24/1 14.2.67. I 2. Built of ragstone. C13 chancel with C15 north and south chapels. C14 nave with C14 north aisle and C15 south aisle, C15 south porch with a west tower which is a land mark for a wide area. The jambs of the vestry door are early Norman, circa 1080. C15 font. Rood stairs. C19 box pews. The churchyard has some C18 stone headstones with cherub, skull or hourglass motifs. Paths in the churchyard are paved with stone pavements of Bethersden marble.
