Marlingate and projecting wall

II

House. C16, altered and clad c.1700 and extended c.1830. Timber framed and clad
with ornamental tile hanging on ground floor of red brick, in part in English
bond. Plain tiled roof. Three framed bay lobby entry. Two storeys and attic on
plinth (with portion of C16 brickwork to end right), with half-hipped roof and
stacks to centre left and at end right. Four metal casements of 2, 1, 3 and 2-
lights on first floor, and 3 casements of 3, 3 and 2-lights on ground floor. C20
plank and stud door to centre left in gabled porch. Single storey rear wing of
c.1830. Projecting from end right a length of early C19 garden wall, about 3 feet
high, ramped down at the furthest end, about 25 feet from the house. Interior:
full frame visible with fluted jowls, clasped purlin roof with (reused?) soot
blackened rafters. Inglenook and tongue stopped chamfered ceiling beams.
