Details

WILSFORD THE STREET SU 05 NE (west side) 1/187 Cruck End II House. Late medieval. Timber framed with brick infilling, thatched roof. Single storey and attic, 2 bays. Structure has two cruck pairs, one exposed in gable full height in uniform curve with ties carrying wall plates. Collar above. Crucks founded on large sarsens, but replaced in north-west corner. Timber casement windows. Interior largely opened up, but large stack to east bay with timber lintel and kitchen in annex to rear of stack. Smoke blackened in roof.
