6.6.61 No 94 (Merton Cottage) & No 96.(Burnham House) (formerly listed as No 94 (Post Office), No 96 and No 98) GV II

Two houses (probably originally one house and outbuildings), C16 and later. Of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, Collyweston stone slate roof and stone end and 2 ridge stacks. Long range of 2 storeys, with lower C19 addition (sometime Post Office) projecting towards street at right hand end, with hipped roof, hipped dormer, and side stack, and with one C20 window and one blocked opening to street. Main range has segment-headed carriage entrance now blocked (and filled with door and window) between buttresses with set-offs. Tiny window at eaves level above. Part to right has two C20 casement windows and C20 door. Gabled 3-light casement dormer above, breaking through eaves. Part to left has C20 four-light casement window, and late C19 shop window and door.Two 2-light casements above. Two gabled wings to rear of No 94, one with blocked 4-centred arch.
