Details
ROCHESTER HIGH STREET TQ 7468 7/126 No 83 24.10.50 GV II* Former house, now offices. Late Cl7. Brick with Kent tile roof set gable-end on to street. Lateral stacks. 3 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range (towards High Street). Stone coping and kneelers to gable wall which contains oculus with glazing bars. Brick plat bands between floors return along side elevation. Cambered window arches to 2nd floor, flat to others; 12-pane horned sashes throughout. Good late C18 central panelled door with rectangular overlight with glazing bars, moulded surround and cornice on console brackets. Side elevation: irregularly placed windows with cambered arches and 12-pane sashes. Modern casement window to 2nd floor. C20 extension and fire escape to rear. Interior: Fragment of early stairs and panelling: otherwise little visible but original work may survive concealed behind later cladding.
