Details

1. 5118 BITTON MILL LANE Upton Cheyney Holister's Farmhouse ST 6969 15/36 ST 6970 13/36 11.5.53 II 2. C17 and early C18. Rubble with pantile roofs. Front consists of 2 contiguous units, gabled portion with slightly higher roof level to right, end gables with copings. Coped gable with saddlestone to front and oval window in gable. Two storeys and attics, 2 windows, 3-light stone mullioned casements with common dripmoulds of circa 1700, modern mullion-type windows replace former door. Left hand unit longer with moulded coping to parapet, 3 modern gabled dormers. Two widely spaced windows per floor, 3-light stone mullioned casements with dripmoulds. Wide square head bolection architrave door opening to left of centre (recently moved back to this position), hollow elliptical stone hood on heavy folded scroll-brackets (set in upside down). Chimneys removed, saddlestone on left hand coped verge. One and a half storey modern 2 bay extension to left in C17 style. Well-head to front. Rear elevation reflects front. Interior: stair has thick turned balusters on straight string.
