SE 9222-9322 WINTERINGHAM SILVER STREET (south side) Whitegates and Silver 8/40 Cottage (formerly listed as 6.11.67 Whitegates)

House and barn, now 2 houses. Datestone on house inscribed MMW, barn to 1672 left probably later. C20 alterations. Roughly-coursed limestone rubble; brick front to house, colourwashed to Whitegates on left and rendered to Silver Cottage on right. Brick gables and stacks. Pantile roof. Single storey with attic, 5 bays to house, one bay to barn. Steps to two C20 doors, C20 12-pane sliding sash to right end, C20 casement in original opening to left, and 2 central adjoining casements probably in enlarged original opening. 2-course brick band above, raised to left over door and datestone. Single casement with glazing bars and blocked breather slit to barn. Pair C20 raking dormers to Silver Cottage, single sloping dormer to Whitegates. Central and end stacks. Brick-coped gables, that to barn under reconstruction at time of re-survey. Interior: Silver Cottage retains original ceiling beams.
