Details
SWALLOWFIELD STANFORD END SU 76 SW (west side) 11/13 The Mill G.V. II Water mill, now disused. Early C19. Brick, slate gabled roof, and weatherboarded hoist housing. Cross gabled plan with gabled projections on north and south fronts. 3 storeys and attics. Plinth, string course at first floor level. Centre pivoting windows with glazing bars, segmental brick arches in dark contrasting brick with projecting key stones. South front:- 2 bays. Bargeboards on brick corbels. Hoist housing gabled projection in centre at top; blocked openings on second floor; a planked loading door at right on first floor; a similar door below this on ground floor in a deeply recessed entrance, and blocked window to left of this. Eastfront:- 5 bays, the centre 3 projecting with the second floor window openings blocked. Projecting bracketed brick eaves on either side of centre part.
