Details

WOKINGHAM WITHOUT HOLME GREEN SU 86 NW (south west side) Holme Green 10/9 The Garden House 26.1.67 II House. Mid C18, extended early C19. Brick, hipped old tile roof. L-plan, C19 extensions on north-west side. 2 storeys and attics with lower ground floor on south east. 3 chimneys, 2 on left, one on right. Mostly sash windows with glazing bars. South-east front:- 2 irregular dormer windows, a tall angular one storey bay on the right at first floor, with frieze, cornice, a flat lead roof and flush panelled apron; 3 sash windows, one at mezzanine level to left of bay, one under bay at ground floor, and the other on the lower ground floor. North-west front:- early C19 extension. 2 storeys. Brick, flat eaves on cut brackets. On the right a pedimented projection of 3 bays, the centre blocked on both floors; one bay set back on left hand, main block set further back on left with a panelled door with radiating fanlight in angle. On the right of the pedimented section a similar set-back with a further one bay set-back to right with a panelled door and semi-circular radiating fanlight in moulded architrave. Old wall kitchen garden at rear with York stone paving adjoining house.
