SY 70 NW PIDDLEHINTON
12/183 26-1-56 Muston Manor including attached wall, dovecote and mounting block to south (formerly listed as Muson Manor House) GV II
House, late C17. Brick (English bond) main facade wall; banded flint and rubble end walls. Tiled, gable-ended roof with brick stacks to right of door and to gables. 2 storey porch with attic; 5 bays with early C20 extension right. Ground floor has 4-light stone mullioned windows, with hollow chamfers. The upper floor has similar 3-light windows. Porch has a elliptically headed stone arch and continuously hollow chamfer and ogee moulded jambs. C19 2-light gabled dormers. Internal features: C17 chimney piece from Waterston Manor. To the south is a brick wall terminating in a small dovecote with a pitched slate roof. The wall has a gateway with brick piers having a flat stone coping with ball finials. Mounting block below dovecote. RCHM, Dorset, vol III, p 209, no 3.
