Manor House in grounds. C15 core consists of Hall with porch and oriel, (partly rebuilt in C16), north parlour and south cross-wing. C16 infill and rebuildings between porch and oriel. Late C16 extension of the south range to the west, and short wings to south to balance eastern range. Late C16 additions at north-west, off the parlour. C19 porch, screens-passage and interior alterations. C20 alterations. Rubble-stone walls with ashlar dressings. Stone-slate roofs with stone gable-copings. Stone stacks with cornices, on south-east gable and ridge, oriel gable, and on south wings. Brick stacks on parlour gable, on ridge of south range, towards west end. East elevation: two storeys. 5 windows, including the oriel. South-east gable-end to lane has a weathered buttress and canted oriel over, two trefoil-cusped lights to front, on to each cant. Plain shields in cusped panels below the cill, moulded corbelling. Gabled porch has an outer archway with 4-centred head and label over. 4-light hollow-chamfered mullion window, with returned label over. Joining bay has a C20 door, and 2-light window over. Square and gabled oriel bay, has a 4-light hollow- chamfered mullion window, to ground and first floors. Both with separate labels over. Parlour has a 6-light mullion window, and a 4-light window over. Ground floor window with a label. Iron casements with lead lights. North gable end has a stack embrasure with weatherings. Single-light windows to ground and first floor. South elevation: two storeys with attics. 7 windows, 3-light and four-light hollow-chamfered stone mullions, with separate labels over. Doorways are of stone with chamfered jambs and 4- centred heads. Kitchen south doorway has an oak surround with a triangular head, c C17. The north-west front of the south range has 3 C17 2-light windows with oak frames, and four transomed windows to the first floor. Interior: Roll, C16 fireplace. South of this a doorway with the initials W.H. on the spandrels (William Hannam d. 1576). North of the fireplace, four-dentred archway to the oriel with panelled reveals, and soffit. Oriel's ceiling has moulded crcss-beams and wall-plates. Roof of hall, 4 bays with 5 tie-beam trusses having moulded ties, arch-braces and purlins, plain principals and collars, and hollow-chamfered upright and raking struts. Between the purlins, cusped wind-braces are set diagonally to form quatrefoil panels and two-centred arches between the upper purlins. Parlour has early C17 panelling with cornice and panelled door. Late C17 staircase west of this has turned balusters, closestrings and square panelled newels with ball finials and pendants. Drawing Room in south range has C15 wagon roof, compartmented and bossed at the intersections. Wall-plates are corbelled out. flagon roof to chamber over oriel. C17 fireplaces.
