CONISTON LITTLE LANGDALE NY 30 SW Low Hall Garth 2/54 II

3 houses and barn. Late C17 and early C18, court cupboard dated 1689, addition of C18. L-plan. Farmhouse faces north-east with range to rear facing north-west comprising barn and 2 cottages. Stone rubble, the houses painted; slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays with gable end of barn to right. Windows have casements; entrance has slate gabled canopy. Gable-end stack of T-plan. Interior has stone stair to right of fireplace. Barn has ventilation slots. Left return of barn has central barn doors and end doors. 3 cruck trusses with windbraces and cow house with partitions to left. Cottages are C18 of 2 bays with added bay; slate dripcourse, gabled porch, casement windows, end bay of one storey, with return porch. 2 gable-end stacks. Property of The National Trust, the gift of Beatrix Potter.
