Parkside Lodge at Parkside
Hospital (Block 57)
- II
Lodge, now disused. 1868-71, by Robert Griffiths of Stafford. Red brick, with yellow and blue brick and ashlar dressings and half-hipped slate roofs. Italianate round arched style, like the main hospital buildings. Plinth, sill bands, eaves on shaped wooden brackets. 2 storeys; 2 window range. L-plan. Ground floor openings boarded at time of survey. Ground floor windows have wedge lintels and keystones. Central gabled porch with polychrome round arched opening with keystone. Boarded side openings. To left, a window and above, a smaller flat headed casement. To right, a projecting bay with a window on each floor, the upper one a segment headed casement. Left return has similar fenestration. At the rear, a yard and outbuildings enclosed by a wall.
