Details
EAST STREET (East-side) SY 96 82 7/27 The Old Saddlery (formerly listed as House and Shop 20.11.59 adjoining Gift Shop on South) GV II House. Part used as shop. Probably late C18. Rubble stone walls, slate roof with stone eaves courses, brick stack at left end. 2 storeys. Stable door in timber porch with segmental lead roof. Square bay shop window with glazing bars and simple moulded cornice. First floor has 2 sashes with glazing bars. In right end gable, a similar shop window, but with sashes with glazing bars. Also on ground floor, one flat sash with glazing bars. 2 similar sashes on first floor. At rear, a small single-storey outbuilding, with stone slate roof, now used as garage. (RCHM, Monument 37.
