BRANCEPETH THE VILLAGE NZ 2237 (East side, off) 15/31 Hoppy Acres and 10/5/67 Constable Meadows (formerly listed as Brancepeth Rectory) II Former Rectory now 2 dwellings. Mid-late C18 rear wing (Constable Meadows) with c.1820 block on front (Hoppy Acres). Pebble-dashed rubble with ashlar dressings. Welsh slate roofs and rebuilt brick chimney stacks. T-plan with wing at right-angles on rear. 3-storey front block: 3 bays, the narrow pedimented centre bay breaking forward. Raised quoins on centre bay and at ends. Central 3-panel double doors and radial fanlight under pedimented distyle Tuscan porch; 12- and 9-pane sashes above and small pediment with blocked oculus. Wide 3-storey bow at right has 3 curved sashes with stone sills on each floor: 12-pane on ground and first floors; 9-pane on top floor. Left bay blank. Wood eaves cornice and very low-pitched hipped roof. 2-bay left return has C19 canted bay window on ground floor, two 12-pane sashes on first floor and two 9-pane sashes above in raised stone surrounds. 2-storey, 3-bay rear wing has 6-panel door in stone architrave at right, 16-pane sashes with stone sills and steeply-pitched roof with left end and ridge stacks. Later single-storey additions on right return of main block and on rear of wing are not of special interest. Hoppy Acres is incorrectly shown on 0.S. map as Happy Acres.
